North Anna Nuclear Power Plant (NANPP)
Earthquake on August 23, 2011 Ata Istar August 26, 2011 North Anna Nuclear Power Plant.pptx 1
- Peak ground acceleration due to the earthquake on August 23, 2011 is estimated to be 0.20g, which may be updated later.
" Therefore, the ground motion likely exceeded the NANPP SSE response spectra of 0.12g.
" If the NANPP SEE response spectra curves would not envelop the new response spectra curves, reevaluation of all SCs in-scope of LR need to be performed for justification of continued operation using the predicted cross-sectional (mechanical) properties at the end of the license period.

Conclusion:==
The reduced cross-sectional (mechanical) properties coupled with the increased seismic estimates will increase the stress levels exponentially at the critical locations of NANPP SCs.
