NRC ENDORSEMENT OF REVISED NEI 06-04 REV. 2, CONDUCTING A HOSTILE ACTION-BASED EMERGENCY RESPONSE DRILL APPENDIX A, EXERCISE OBJECTIVES, JULY 25, 2011
Dear Ms. Perkins-Grew:
This letter is in response to your July 25, 2011, letter (ADAMS No. ML112091915), requesting U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review and endorsement of NEI 06-04 Conducting A Hostile Action-Based Emergency Response Drill Revision 2, Appendix A, dated April 2010.
This version of NEI 06-04 superseded a draft previously submitted for staff review.
The staff has completed an extensive review of NEI 06-04, Revision 2, Appendix A, which was revised to address staff comments and recommendations offered at the public meeting held on July 13, 2011. All staff comments and recommendations have been adequately addressed in this revision of the document. Accordingly, the NRC will identify in the Interim Staff Guidance document to accompany the final emergency preparedness rule that NEI 06-04, Revision 2, Appendix A is an acceptable method for use in the development of hostile action-based drills and exercises.
