This is a Category 3 Meeting. The public is invited to participate in this meeting by providing comments and asking questions throughout the meeting.

PURPOSE:

To meet with the public to receive comments on the draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement 40 (DSEIS) to the Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants (NUREG-1437) for Kewaunee Power Station (KPS),

issued on January 29, 2010. The DSEIS is available on the U.S.

Nuclear Regulatory Commision=s (NRC) Website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/nuregs/staff/sr1437/

Supplement40/ and in the NRC=s publicly available Agencywide Document Access and Management System (ADAMS). The ADAMS Accession Number for the DSEIS is ML100240002. See the enclosed agenda and Federal Register Notice (75 FR 6065).

PURPOSE:

Both formal sessions will be preceded by an informal ?open house@

beginning one hour prior to each session for those who wish to attend.

The open house will provide members of the public with an opportunity to talk informally one-on-one with NRC staff. Members of the public may register to present oral comments at this meeting by contacting Mr. Daniel I. Doyle, at 1 (800) 368-5642, ext. 3748, or by e-mail at KewauneeEIS.Resource@nrc.gov by April 23, 2010. Those who wish to make comments may also register at the meeting within 15 minutes of the start of each session. Individual oral comments may be limited by the time available, depending on the number of persons who register.

If special equipment or accommodations are required to attend or present information at the meeting, this should be brought to the attention of the contact indicated above, no later than five days prior to the meeting. This will provide the NRC staff adequate notice to determine whether the request can be accommodated.
