LETTER OF APPRECIATION - DAVID ELLIS

Dear Mr. Gardner:

I want to thank you and Entergy Operations for supporting the participation of Mr. Dave Ellis of your staff in the Division of Spent Fuel Storage and Transportation's June 18, 2009 seminar on dry cask storage. Mr. Ellis presentation on Operational Experience Implementing a New Certificate of Compliance Amendment for Dry Storage was very informative. We very much appreciate his sharing of experiences and perspectives in implementing dry cask storage programs at your facility. I believe his presentation was very effective in describing the significant prior planning, preparation and coordination involved in implementing the dry cask storage program that we regulate.

Please pass along our sincere Thank You to Mr. Ellis for his outstanding presentation and his engagement with our staff in responding to multiple staff questions and clarifications.

Thank you for your support of this activity.

Sincerely,

/RA/

E. William Brach, Director Division of Spent Fuel Storage and Transportation Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards
