Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC Oconee Nuclear Station, Units 1, 2 and 3 Renewed Facility Operating Licenses Numbers DPR-38, -47 and -55; Docket Numbers 50-269, 50-270 and 50-287 24 Month Fuel Cycles and Adoption of TSTF-493 The purpose of this letter is to inform the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that as Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC (Duke) transitions to a 24 month fuel cycle at the Oconee Nuclear Station (ONS), Duke is not planning to adopt TSTF-493, "Clarify Application of Setpoint Methodology for LSSS Functions" as part of the ONS Licensing Basis unless Technical Specification setpoint allowable values have to be changed. This information was discussed with Hukem Garg and Carl Schulton of the NRC staff on March 26, 2009.
