SUMMARY
OF THE SEPTEMBER 24, 2008, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS CROSS-CUTTING ISSUES AND RECENT CULTURE SURVEY On September 24, 2008, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting at the Region III office in Lisle, Illinois. The meeting was between NRC Region III and Headquarters officials and FPL Energy Point Beach, LLC representatives to discuss the licensees actions on substantive cross-cutting issues, the preliminary results of the licensees 2008 safety culture survey, and the status of licensee actions taken in response to Confirmatory Order EA 06-0178, issued on January 3, 2007.
The NRC began the meeting with introductions and opening remarks by Cynthia Pederson.
This was followed by the licensees presentation. The licensees meeting presentation slides can be found in ADAMS at ML082681941. A list of principal meeting attendees can be found in the attached enclosure.
At the end of the meeting, members of the public were given the opportunity to ask questions to NRC officials.
