OF MEETING HELD ON JUNE 24, 2008, WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STRATEGIC TEAMING AND RESOURCE SHARING ALLIANCE AND ARIZONA PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY TO DISCUSS PLANS TO SUBMIT A LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION FOR THE PALO VERDE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION On June 24, 2008, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) met with members of the Strategic Teaming and Resource Sharing (STARS) Alliance and Arizona Public Service (APS) in a public meeting to discuss plans to submit a license renewal application (LRA) for the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS). A list of attendees is provided in Enclosure 1 and the meeting agenda is provided in Enclosure 2. A copy of the slides presented by STARS and APS is provided as Enclosure 3. A copy of the slides presented by the staff is provided as.
STARS and APS provided an overview of the approach used in submitting their LRAs. They discussed how lessons learned from the Wolf Creek Generating Station LRA will be incorporated into the PVNGS LRA and the status of that forthcoming application. The staff provided an overview discussion of the license renewal process.
