Dear Mr. Sena:
On August 28, 2007, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) received the FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Companys application for renewal of operating licenses DPR-66 and NPF-73 for the Beaver Valley Power Station, Units 1 and 2. We are currently performing an acceptance review for docketing in accordance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 2.101, and will notify you of the results of our review. Should the NRC staff determine that the application is acceptable for docketing, a schedule for the review will then be provided to you.
We have enclosed for your information a copy of the notice relating to your application that is being sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kent L. Howard, Sr. as the lead project manager for the review of your license renewal application. Please forward copies of all license renewal correspondence to Mr. Howard. Ms. Nadiyah Morgan continues to remain responsible for the project management of all issues other than license renewal for Beaver Valley Power Station, Units 1 and 2.
