ISSUANCE OF RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NOS. DPR-63 AND NPF-69 FOR THE NINE MILE POINT NUCLEAR STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 (TAC NOS. MC3272 AND MC3273)
Dear Mr. OConnor:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-63 and NPF-69 for Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station (NMPNS), Units 1 and 2.
The NRC issued the renewed facility operating licenses based on the staffs review of your application dated May 26, 2004, as supplemented by letters submitted to the NRC through April 21, 2006. The Technical Specifications for NMPNS were not amended as a result of our review.
The technical basis for issuing the renewed license is set forth in NUREG-1900, Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2, published in September 2006. The results of the environmental review related to the issuance of the renewed license are contained in NUREG-1437, Supplement 24, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, Regarding Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station (NMPNS), Units 1 and 2, published in May 2006. contains Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-63 and the attachments:
Appendix A, Technical Specifications. contains Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-69 and the attachments:
Appendix A, Technical Specifications, and Appendix B, Environmental Protection Plan.
Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-63 expires at midnight August 22, 2029.
Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-69 expires at midnight October 31, 2046.
Enclosure 3 is a copy of the related Federal Register Notice of Issuance of the renewed license.
