June 13, 2006 PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF EVENT OR UNUSUAL OCCURRENCE PNO-II-06 002A This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of possible safety or public interest significance. The information is as initially received without verification or evaluation, and is basically all that is known by Region II staff (Atlanta, Georgia) on this date.

UPDATE OF REGION II RESPONSE TO TROPICAL STORM ALBERTO Crystal River exited their Notice Of Unusual Event at 3:11 p.m. on June 13, 2006. Wind speeds of up to approximately 40 mph were experienced on site. A storm surge of approximately four feet occurred, however, it had no effect on plant operation. Additionally, there were no reports of storm damage at the site. The unit remained at full power throughout the storm.
NRC resident inspectors are at the nuclear plant site, but have resumed their normal work schedule.
