RECORDS REQUIRED TO BE FORWARDED TO NRCs REGION IV OFFICE
Dear Mr. Quennoz:
By letter dated December 20, 2004, you submitted to the NRC a detailed description of records that were required to be submitted to the Region IV office prior to termination of your 10 CFR Part 50 license. We have reviewed your letter and have discussed the issue with the NRCs project manager for your facility. In summary, we agree with your analysis and conclusion, and we understand that the only record still outstanding is the 2004 annual radioactive effluent release report.
As stated in your letter, the 2004 annual radioactive effluent release report is expected to be submitted to the NRC during the first quarter of 2005. The NRC reviewed portions of this report during the onsite inspection that was conducted between January 24-27, 2005. Details of the review will be provided in NRC Inspection Report 50-344/05-001; 72-017/05-001. In addition, the information provided in your upcoming 2004 annual radioactive effluent release report will be considered as part of the license termination process. Questions about the information provided in your annual report, if any, will be provided to you under separate correspondence.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and your response (if any) will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
Please note that on October 25, 2004, the NRC suspended public access to ADAMS, and initiated an additional security review of publicly available documents to ensure that potentially sensitive information is removed from the ADAMS database accessible through the NRC's web site. Interested members of the public may obtain copies of the referenced documents for review and/or copying by contacting the Public Document Room pending resumption of public access to ADAMS.
