REVIEW OF FINAL STATUS SURVEY REPORT FOR THE CONTAINMENT BUILDING INTERIOR AT THE TROJAN NUCLEAR PLANT
Dear Mr. Quennoz:
On October 31, 2003, Portland General Electric Company (PGE) submitted the Final Status Survey Report (FSSR) for the Trojan Nuclear Plant (TNP) Containment Building interior. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff provided comments on the FSSR, via facsimile, on February 11, 2004. PGE submitted Revision 1 to the FSSR for the Containment Building interior on March 11, 2004. The staff has completed its review of the FSSR and concludes: (1) the final status survey was conducted in accordance with the License Termination Plan (LTP); (2) the FSSR contains the information identified in NUREG-1757, Consolidated NMSS Decommissioning Guidance, Section 4.5; and (3) the final status survey results demonstrate that the Containment Building interior meets the radiological criteria for unrestricted release identified in the LTP.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter, and your response (if any) will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
