Dear Mr. Howe:
I received a copy of your response to the-Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders regarding their concerns over the re-licensing proposal of Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station (OCNGS). I have enclosed a copy for your convenience.
I have a question with regard to your Paragraph 2 regarding the initial construction of OCNGS. If I am reading your response correctly, it appears that during the initial licensing of OCNGS, the NRC identified and considered integrity issues with regard to its construction.
If the NRC did consider integrity issues regarding construction practices or materials in its initial licensing of OCNGS, I would request that your office provide me with a summation of what those initial construction issues were.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss this request with me, please do not hesitate to contact me.
