Dear Mr. Marion:
By letter dated September 26, 2003, Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) submitted a generic request for relaxation from certain provisions of Order EA-03-009, which established interim inspection requirements for reactor pressure vessel heads at pressurized water reactors. By letter dated October 15, 2003, NEI provided additional information in response to staff questions raised during its initial review of the September 26, 2003 request.
The additional information will be considered as part of the generic relaxation technical basis report provided by the Materials Reliability Program Generic Evaluation of Examination Coverage Requirements for Reactor Pressure Vessel Head Penetration Nozzles (MRP-95).
