Dear Ms. Gibson:
The Mississippi State Department of Health, in coordination with the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, has elected to include the prophylactic use of potassium iodide (KI) as a protective measure for the general public within the 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) of the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS) in Claiborne County, Mississippi.
In accordance with NRC letter dated December 20, 2001, the State of Mississippi is requesting a supply of KI tablets for each person within the 10-mile EPZ. The estimated resident and transient population for this area is 10,000. Please ship the supply of KI to the following address:
