VIRGIL C. SUMMER NUCLEAR STATION PRE-REFUELING OUTAGE MEETING
Dear Mr. Byrne:
This refers to the meeting conducted at your request at our office in Atlanta, Georgia on April 9, 2002. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the upcoming Virgil C. Summer refueling outage and other items of interest. A list of attendees and presentation handouts are enclosed.
At the meeting, your staff presented an informational overview of activities planned for Refueling Outage 13. The activities discussed included shutdown safety, major modifications and maintenance, and response to NRC Bulletin 2001-01; Reactor Pressure Vessel Head Degradation and Reactor Coolant Boundary Integrity. In addition, your staff presented future plans involving the modernization of instrumentation and control systems.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
