This special report is submitted in accordance with Technical Specification 3.3.3.6.c for the Harris Nuclear Plant (HNP), of Carolina Power & Light Company (doing business as Progress Energy Carolinas, Inc.). The report is required due to the Pressurizer Safety Valve Position Indicator and the Reactor Coolant System Subcooling Margin Monitor inoperable for greater than seven days during a scheduled modification to replace the plant Emergency Response Facility Information System (ERFIS) computer system.
The ERFIS computer system was taken out of service on 4/16/05. While inoperable, actions were taken per Technical Specification 3.3.3.6.c to use preplanned alternate methods of monitoring the above parameters. The ERFIS computer system was restored on 4/25/05.
