TVA letter to NRC, CNL-24-001, "Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant, Units 1, 2, and 3

- Application for Subsequent Renewed Operating Licenses," dated January 19, 2024 (ML24019A010)

By the referenced letter, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) submitted a subsequent license renewal application (SLRA) for the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN), Units 1, 2, and 3, Renewed Facility Operating Licenses in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Part 54, Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants. The License Renewal Rule, 10 CFR 54.21(b), requires that each year following submittal of a license renewal application (LRA), and at least 3 months before scheduled completion of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review, an update to the LRA must be submitted that identifies any change to the current licensing basis (CLB) of the facility that materially affects the content of the LRA including the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report Supplement.

In accordance with the License Renewal Rule, TVA has performed the required review of BFN Units 1, 2, and 3 CLB changes since the SLRA submittal to determine whether any sections of the SLRA were materially affected by these changes. As a result of this review, TVA identified no changes to the BFN Units 1, 2, and 3 CLB that materially affected the SLRA content. This submittal meets both update requirements of 10 CFR 54.21(b).
