Radiation Monitor 2RllA - Out of Calibration.

This report was initiated by Incident Report 82-010.

CONDITIONS PRIOR TO OCCURRENCE:

Mode 1 - Rx Power 30% - Unit Load 260 MWe DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE:

On January 12, 1982, during routine calibration testing,. Radiation Monitor 2RllA was found to be out of. calibration.

At 0945 hours0.0109 days <br />0.263 hours <br />0.00156 weeks <br />3.595725e-4 months <br />, 2RllA was declared' inoperable and Action Statement 3.3.3.1.b Action 24 was entered.

This occurrence constituted operation in a degraded mode in accordance

- with Technical Specification 6.9.1.9.b.

DESIGNATION OF APPARENT CAUSE OF OCCURRENCE:

2RllA had drifted out of calibration.

ANALYSIS OF OCCURRENCE:

Technical Specification 3.3.3.1.b Action 24 requires:

With the number of channels operable less than required by the minimum channels operable requirement, comply with the action requirements of Specification 3.4.7.1.

Technical Specification 3.4.7.1 requires:

With only two of the required leakage detection systems operable, operation may continue for up' to 30 days provided grab samples of the containment atmosphere are obtained and analyzed at least once per 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> when the required gaseous and/or particulate radioactivity monitoring system is inoperable.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

2RllA was properly recalibrated and tested satisfactorily.

The required containment air samples were taken.

At 2125 hours0.0246 days <br />0.59 hours <br />0.00351 weeks <br />8.085625e-4 months <br />, January 12, 1982, 2RllA was declared operable and Action State-ment 3.3.3.1.b Action 24 was terminated.
